In this fascinating journey, Sidka discovers his identity as he immerses himself in a vibrant community of performers and creators. The story not only reveals his acceptance as a trans masculine individual, but also his personal transition, marked by deep connections and transformations that lead him to his true self.

西德卡·萨维德拉·维拉1998年出生于智利圣地亚哥，是一位有着巴勒斯坦血统的跨性别电影人。他从2017年起居于布宜诺斯艾利斯，在阿根廷电影学院学习电影导演。他的创作实践围绕着纪录片制作、声音设计、视听叙事的实验方法展开。他在纪录片《法蒂科》（2020年布宜诺斯艾利斯国际独立电影节）和混合纪录长片《柑橘之地》（2025年安第斯高原电影节特别提及）中以出色的声音指导脱颖而出。 

西德卡目前在阿根廷电影学院担任三年级课程《视听技术II》的助教，师从纪录片导演罗伯托·巴兰达利亚和乌戈·曼索。他亦不时受邀前往纽约大学布宜诺斯艾利斯分校，在费德里科·温德豪森的课堂上讲授实验电影专题讲座。 

在文化部文化赞助计划、阿根廷电影学院及布宜诺斯艾利斯国际纪录片电影节实验室（2023）的支持下，他正筹备首部长片《男女孩与哥特鲸》。他的短片《地下变形记》（2025）入围了布宜诺斯艾利斯国际独立电影节、圣地亚哥国际电影节（获特别提及奖）、2025温哥华酷儿电影节及2025柏林国际短片电影节纪录片竞赛单元。 

Sidka Saavedra Vera, born in Santiago de Chile 1998, is a transgender filmmaker of Palestinian descent. Since 2017, he has been based in Buenos Aires, where he pursued a degree in Film Direction at the Universidad del Cine. His practice centers on documentary filmmaking, sound design, and experimental approaches to audiovisual narrative. He stood out for his sound direction in Fático (BAFICI 2020) and in the feature-length hybrid-documentary Tierra Citrus (Special Mention at Festival de Cine de las Alturas, 2025). 

Sidka currently serves as a teaching assistant in the third-year class Técnicas Audiovisuales II at Universidad del Cine, under the guidance of documentary filmmakers Roberto Barandalla and Hugo Manso. He is also occasionally invited to give special lectures on experimental cinema at NYU Buenos Aires in Federico Windhausen’s class. 

He is developing his first feature film, The Boy Girl and the Gothik Whales, with support from Mecenazgo Cultural, Universidad del Cine, and FIDBA LAB (2023). His short film Underground Morphology (2025) was selected for BAFICI, SANFIC (Winner of special mention), Vancouver Queer Film Festival 2025 and INTERFILM documentary competition 2025. 

当我开始拍电影时，我并不知道原因——我只知道我需要拍摄。我有一种本能的迫切需求，想通过镜头去寻找些什么。随着时间流逝，我的镜头和我所捕捉的世界之间越来越近，不知不觉间，我已成为那个地下场景的一部分。遇见这些形形色色的人让我明白自己所追寻的，恰恰是那个自我。这个过程并不轻松，但我这样一个生活在布宜诺斯艾利斯的智利-巴勒斯坦裔跨性别男孩，最终还是找到了自己所属的位置和所需的接纳。若不是拍摄，这一切都不可能实现。 

这个项目不仅是在讲述故事，更是在构建记忆。通过电影，我们留下了存在、蜕变、团结、抗争的种种痕迹。这部影片是立足个人、政治与诗意的宣言——既是生存的纪实，亦是蜕变的礼赞。 

When I started filming, I didn’t know why—I just knew I needed to film. I had this visceral necessity to find something through my lens. As time passed, the distance between my camera and the world I was capturing grew smaller, until without noticing it, I became part of that underground scene. Meeting all of these creatures made me understand what I was looking for, and that was myself. It was not an easy path, but I finally found my place in the world and the acceptance I needed, as a Chilean-Palestinian transgender boy living in Buenos Aires. Without filming, this wouldn’t have been possible. 

This project is not only about telling a story, but about building memory. Through cinema, we are leaving a trace of our existences, our transitions, our alliances, our battles. It is a film that takes a stand from the personal, the political, and the poetic—a document of survival and a celebration of becoming.
