Director’s Statement
I am drawn to stories of quiet resilience and the courage it takes to live authentically. Affectionately known as the “2 Travelling Aunties” on social media, Norah and Susie have defied societal expectations, embracing a life of adventure and self-discovery on the road.
This film is not only about their overlanding journeys, but also a reflection on the strength it takes to carve one’s own path in a world that often dictates who we should be. Noor and Susie’s choice to embrace life, despite the risks of being lesbians in a conservative society, is a testament to their bravery. Their lives echo the quiet battles many of us face — against judgment, expectations, and our own fears.
Ultimately, the film is a gentle reminder to reflect on our own journeys, relationships, and what it means to truly live on our own terms.
