Room

一位退休母亲擅闯她的同性恋女儿与其女朋友的家。她在她们的家中举行了一系列仪式，希望女儿变得 “正常”。在她正准备离开时，她看到了女儿和女儿的女朋友回家，她躲在楼道的角落里看着，却陷入了深深的自我怀疑之中。   

A retired mother trespassed on her lesbian daughter’s home. She performed a series of exorcisms in her home in hopes that her daughter could turn into a ‘normal girl.’ As she was about to leave, she saw her daughter and her daughter’s girlfriend coming home. She hid in the corner of the building and watched, only to fall into deep self-doubt.

青年导演韩果真毕业于伦敦艺术大学伦敦传媒学院电影制作硕士专业。 

毕业后在大学任教电影专业，现为独立电影制作人。 

致力于实验电影，剧情艺术电影和纪录片的创作。创作侧重于现实主义题材，平凡人物中不平凡的闪光点，透析观察人物的多维度，注重深度思考多类文学艺术作品的多层次表达。 

短片作品曾入围伦敦国际电影节、澳门国际电影节、世界游牧影展等。长片作品《不会说话的水怪》入围19届FIRST青年影展制作中电影项目，吴天明青年影展产业放映，目前在后期制作中。   

Young director Han Guozhen holds an MA in Film from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. After graduation, he taught film at the university level and now works as an independent filmmaker. 

He is dedicated to creating experimental films, narrative art films, and documentaries. His creative focus is on realist themes, capturing extraordinary moments in ordinary people, analyzing characters through multidimensional perspectives, and emphasizing deep reflection on the layered expressions found in diverse literary and artistic works. 

His short films have been selected for the London International Film Festival, Macau International Film Festival, and World Nomad Short Film Week. His feature film Lost in Teoswa was shortlisted for the 19th FIRST Film Festival’s In-Production Films Project and screened at the Wu Tianming Youth Film Festival Industry Showcase. It is currently in post-production.   

这个剧本的灵感来自于我朋友的真实经历。他的父亲在他的家做一些的驱魔仪式，希望他从同性恋变成异性恋。在听到这个事情之后，我决定把它改编成电影。在中国的传统思想影响下，整个社会对同性恋都有很严重的歧视，视其为异类。很多父母终生都接受不了自己同性恋的子女，与他们划清了界限，在痛苦中生活。在创作中，我没有表现子女的视角，而是其父母的视角，他们渴望子女能像他们希望的一样组建家庭，最后只是和子女越来越疏远，什么也做不了，在梦境中幻想和子女修复已经破损的关系。   

This script was inspired by my friend’s real-life experience. His father performed exorcisms at home in hopes of turning him from gay to straight. After learning about this, I decided to adapt the story into a movie. Influenced by traditional Chinese values, society as a whole is highly discriminatory toward homosexuality and sees it as something foreign. Many parents are so unable to accept their children’s homosexuality that they cut ties, living in pain for the rest of their lives. Therefore, rather than presenting the children’s viewpoint, I chose to focus on the parents, who, longing for their children to build families according to their wishes, unintentionally push them away. As the rift widens, the parents are left helpless, only able to dream of mending the relationship.
