故事梗概 Synopsis
黄树立以自省、以影像、以与母亲的对话、以其浪漫的日记般叙述，触碰着自我，触碰着家的记忆。亲人之间彼此相爱，却有心结难解。复杂的情感，衬着叙述中暧昧的幸福，在阳光下超八毫米胶片的温柔中，流淌。胶片影像震颤着，似一封告别之书，句读中，令人心疼。叙述者被迫成为了一个飘渺的虚影，在传统社会的文化下，浮游着，在自己的菲林中，飘散着，轻轻撕咬心弦。
In a deeply moving diary-like narrative, Shuli Huang confronts personal and family images with introspective thoughts, adding short, interspersed conversations with his mother. The gentleness of Super-8 footage and the ostensible happiness of the scenes, often awash with sunlight, are a harsh contrast with the complexity of their relationship, as they love but can’t understand each other. Thus, the film resonates as a heartbreaking farewell letter, in which, in between the lines, we see the gripping portrayal of a norm-obsessed culture that forces the protagonist to be nothing but a mere shadow, even in his own film.
导演介绍 Director Biography
黄树立，作者，导演，摄影师，1997年出生于浙江温州。2019年他从北京电影学院摄影系毕业，并进入纽约大学电影研究所。
2021年，他担任摄影师的电影首作《再见，乐园》入选第26届釜山国际电影节，获新浪潮大奖。2022年，他执导的电影作品《当我望向你的时候》入选第75届戛纳国际电影节影评人周短片竞赛单元，并获得酷儿棕榈奖。
Shuli Huang is a writer-director and cinematographer born in Wenzhou, China. After graduating from Beijing Film Academy in 2019, he moved to New York City as an MFA candidate for NYU graduate film program. Farewell, My Hometown, his feature debut as a cinematographer won the New Currents Award during the 26th Busan International Film Festival in 2021. His second short film, Will You Look at Me, was selected for the 61st edition of La Semaine de la Critique Cannes 2022.
