Alecio Araci
Alecio Araci has a background in DIY and underground culture and has worked on both low and high budget projects since the mid-00s. Between 2015 and 2018, he trained on the bachelor’s program in film directing at Valand Academy in Gothenburg and has since continued his creative work both in front of and behind the camera. His love for genre films and exploitation films has influenced his creation and he constantly strives to find an intriguing balance between the bizarre and the everyday in his projects. With his latest short film Chavo, he wants to open up a discussion about identity, sexuality, origins and the burden that can arise when these parameters are not compatible with each other.
Director’s Statement

I love to reflect myself and my own experiences of life in my films and breathe life into characters that rarely or never get to appear on the big screen.
