故事梗概

⼀个漂泊在异国他乡的影像艺术工作者隐匿到冰封的草原和森林⾥，试图从中找到意义深远的故事，同时摆脱流离失所的焦虑。这部影⽚是导演以⼀封家书的叙述形式，写给他记忆中的远在⻄南边陲的⼩妹妹。

导演介绍

周豪，1992年⽣于重庆。2014年⾃编⾃导⾃演了⾸部剧情⻓⽚《夜》，该⽚在柏林电影节上⾸映，同时《夜》在⽇内瓦，奈良，南京等国际电影节赢得主要奖项。周豪先后参与了戛纳电影基⾦会驻留，⻄宁First训练营，2018年东京天才训练营，以及2021年柏林影展天才训练营。

Synopsis

An émigré retreats to frozen prairies and swamps, hoping to find a meaningful story and escape the anxieties of dislocation. Delivered as a film-letter to the protagonist’s sister in rural China.

Director Biography

HAO ZHOU (b. Nanchuan, China) is a filmmaker, photographer, and actor. In 2014, Zhou wrote, directed, and produced his first feature, “The Night,” about queer, young sex workers in urban China. After premiering at the Berlin International Film Festival, “The Night” won top prizes at Geneva Independent, Nara, China Independent, Dong Film Fest, and others.

Zhou refined his filmmaking at Cannes Film Festival’s La Résidence (Paris), MexiCannes (Guanajuato), Talents Tokyo, and Berlinale Talents.

Director’s Statement

“Frozen Out” reflects on the experience of self-exile and the vulnerability of home, relationships, and self.
