故事梗概 Synopsis

我想过被关在门外是有多么让人不快,我也想过,被关在里面,又将是更为糟糕的事。

一个周末的乡村小屋之旅,在一个邻居拜访后,如何变得混乱不堪。

三个性别酷儿和一个女同性恋者在城市的边缘,享受着一切陷入困境的迷局。这个小屋在朋友圈中是个公开的秘密,他们在之前的人留下的残局中找到了一种梦一般的、派对结束后的状态。这个小屋是一个避难所,他们可以探索无害的乐趣,做游戏,自己动手做东西,带同志色情元素的园艺,还有周末的幻想。

但是当你想把外部世界挡在门外,这是世界又不是你能逃离的,这时候会发生什么?当你想去除性别概念的时候,你又如何扮演性别角色?这个女同性恋者温迪,比其他三个人更为酷儿吗?她可以选择不这样吗?

当隔壁邻居带来一样本是怀着好意的礼物出现在他们面前时,以上问题被提出。

 

I thought about how unpleasant it is to be locked out; and I thought how it is worse, perhaps, to be locked in.

A weekend country cottage trip ends in disarray after a neighbour visits.

Three gender-queers and a femme enjoy the rabbit-hole fantasy of escape on the edge of the city. The cottage is an open secret among friends, and they find their way there post-party, in a dream-like state, following the crumbs left by those who had come before. The cottage is a refuge where they can explore safe fun and games, exuberant DIY, homoerotic gardening, and weekend dreams.

But what happens when you try to keep out the outside world in a world in which exclusion is impossible? What happens to gender roles when you want to eliminate the idea of gender? Is the femme, Wendy, more or less queer than the other three and can she choose not to be?

These are some of the questions catalysed by the appearance of the next door neighbour and his well-intentioned gift…

詹姆斯·罗沙林德常驻德国柏林,是一名性别酷儿电影人,在伦敦和柏林被酷儿身份、团体问题常年萦绕,詹姆斯受到启发,开始制作一些反映性别酷儿的矛盾与美的电影。

迄今为止,他已经完成几部短片,包括《在针尖起舞的11000位天使》(2012),《派对马车下的外星人》(2008),一部长篇纪录片《入口需求》,讲述德国酷儿-女同挣扎的记忆。

 

James Rosalind is a gender-queer filmmaker based in Berlin. After many years of involvement in queer struggles for identity and community in London and in Berlin, James became inspired to make films depicting the contradictions and beauty of the gender-queer experience.

So far he has made several shorts, including 11,000 Angels Dancing on the Head of a Pin (2012), The Alien under the Party Wagon (2008), and a full-length documentary called Access Wanted (2012), which thematized the struggle for queer-lesbian remembrance in Germany.

《兔子挖洞》的启发,来自于在大的酷儿社区——尤其是柏林——生活的经验,可以看作这样一个类比:当一个酷儿来到一个新的大城市生活,但是他不知道当地的语言、文化符码,他需要找寻和他志趣相投的朋友、社群。

一旦和其他人一样身处酷儿社群,就会有一些社会地区是想争取的,有一些人需要被排除在外。

在柏林酷儿社群中,跨性别人士和性别酷儿是受到欢迎的,但是女同性恋者处于边缘地带。女同性恋总是被人质疑,因为她们可能不像其他群体那样真实。

 

Rabbit-Holing was inspired by the experience of living in big queer scenes, and in particular in Berlin. It can be seen as an analogy for coming to live in a large new city as a queer person without knowing the language or cultural codes, and searching for a group of friends and community.

Once in the queer community, as in any other, there are social positions to be jockeyed for and people to exclude.

Wendy, Peter, Hans and Michelle are looking for refuge, for a respite from feeling on the outside. They wish to spend a weekend with their people to feel included, sexy, and not bothered by the outside world and its prejudices. Unfortunately, however, the outside world comes to them in the form of the next door neighbour and a gift of a rabbit. This invasion upsets their fragile idea of togetherness, as it turns out that they are not together after all. Or at least, the femme, Wendy, it turns out is not together with them. Wendy in turn is less comfortable with in their hedonistic frenzied celebration of trans-masculinity. They in turn exclude her and forcibly so….

In the Berlin queer scene, as in others, trans guys and gender-queers find favour, while femmes are rather marginalised. Femmes can be viewed skeptically, as not being as bona fide queers.

Rabbit-Holing is about the experience of being a queer femme, of feeling a sense of belonging to a community that does not recognise you, but to which you still belong.

本创作《晃遊身体》意图探讨边缘的性别/身体者在生活中的禁制问题。记录台湾资深影评人李幼鹦鹉鹌鹑的「变态」身体、从易装中获得解放的肌肉男李葯、既狂放又缺乏安全感的跨性别者AG与肯定自我的跨性别表演艺术家陈煜明。阐述他们伺机从主流性别文化的体制下脱逃,拓展出各自的「晃遊意识」来表现自我身体的断裂、异质与多重隙缝的身体/性别遊戏。

Body at Large seeks to explore the problems of prohibition, limitation, and discrimination faced by people with marginalized genders/bodies. It is a documentation of the “perverse” body of senior Taiwanese film critic Alphonse Perroquet Quail YouthLeigh; of the muscular body of Lee Yao, who has been liberated by crossdressing; of A.G., a wild and insecure transgender person; and of James Chen, a self-affirming transgender performance artist. The film shows how they manage to find opportunities to escape from mainstream gender systems and to expand consciousness to allowfor fractured, heterogeneous, and multi-apertured body/gender games.

我是个酷儿,既喜欢穿女装又喜欢练肌肉,从小学时就幻想下辈子变成女人,但我完全不在意这辈子的性别;我基本是多元性别气质的流动式混合体,也是个泛性恋者。我获得性快感的途径,有相当一些,都不同于所谓的主流。我乐于接受自己的这一切。“婊子”是我最喜亲密关系,在我看来,不一定只限于两个人,也可以加入更多的人,一起进行这场游戏。我的性幻想之一,就是渴望成为某对情侣的“小三”。前些天的某次酷儿活动,我看到两个大女孩模拟演示虐恋,这个过程中她俩所表现出的亲密感,令我春心荡漾,并且尝试着“加入”她们的游戏,企图给她俩当小三……这是我的一段。

I’m queer, pansexual, and a mixture of plural genders. I like wearing women’s clothing as well as building my muscles. Since elementary school, I’ve hoped that in my next reincarnation I will be born female. In my current life, however, I don’t care one bit about my so-called sex. Also, some of the ways I attain sexual pleasure are different from other people. Bitch is my best political identity. It’s me, and I’m loving it.

In my view, intimacy is not necessarily a two-person combination, but rather a game in which three or even more persons may participate. I long to be “the third person,” to join in with a couple that I like and make us into a “great trinity.” That is one of my sexual fantasies.

Some time ago at a queer event on the topic of SM, I was enthralled upon seeing two nice girls acting out a BDSM scene with ambiguous intimacy. It was a memorable experience for me: I tried to participate in the twosome, doing SM role-playing together and sharing their lovely feelings.

故事梗概 Synopsis

两个男性同性恋在人海中遇见彼此,抵挡不住热烈的火花走在了一起。但世俗的眼光和规矩让他们的恋情不敢见人,两人不得不每天在阴暗潮湿的角落里苟且偷生,在黑暗的夜里才敢出门。这种生活当然很痛苦,很折磨,于是二人想要分开,想要逃离,但经过一番纠结痛苦的挣扎后他们还是毅然决然地决定在一起,手牵手勇敢地走下去。

Two gay men meet each other in a crowd and, able to resist the sparks between them, go off together. But social custom means they cannot allow their relationship to be seen by others, and the two of them must drag out an ignoble existence each day. Only in the darkness of night do they dare to go out. This kind of life, of course, is very painful and tortuous. They want to break up in order to escape, but after many painful struggles they decide to stay together, going bravely hand in hand.

蔡泽林, 男, 1993年10月12日出生。现就读于苏州市苏州科技学院,大三汉语专业。大一时开始参与拍摄第一部微电影《告白行动指南》,这部电影在优酷上获得了50多万的点击率。大二上学期自编自导自演了第二部微电影《围城》,广受好评。大二下学期与几位好友建立“三又二分之一电影工作室”,开始为校内外的各种团体组织拍摄宣传片、微电影等。大三上学期拍摄同性题材MV《春光》,在校内引起轰动,此片入围2014年的上海骄傲同志电影节。大三下学期拍摄完成校园科幻题材短片《盗版光盘》,目前正在紧张的后期制作中。

Cai Zelin was born in 1993. He is a third-year student with a major in Chinese at the Institute of Science and Technology in Suzhou. When he was a freshman, his short film Confessions Guide received more than 500,000 hits on Youku. During his second year of college he wrote, directed and acted in his second short film Wei Cheng. Together with some friends, he started his own film studio called Three and a Half. He started making short films and promotional videos for different organisations. Spring was made in his third year and was selected for theShanghai Gay and Lesbian Pride Film Festival. His latest sci-fi film Pirate Disk is currently in post production.

一个偶然的机会在柴静的《看见》这本书中读到一篇有关同性恋的文章,里面用生动的语言描述了这类人的生活状况,试图让更多的人去了解,理解并且尊重他们。看完之后很受触动,突然意识到这是一个非常值得人们关注的群体。那之后我开始看有关同性恋的电影和资料,不多,但足以让我了解这类人。同性恋既不是病也不是心理变态,只是大自然的一种普通的生物现象,同人类的一切行为一样需要理解。

这部片子以MV的形式采取倒叙、插叙、多线索的叙述方式,暗喻、隐喻、象征的表现方式和怪诞黑色的手法,来向大家展现了两个不被世人所理解的男同的生活,将两人从相遇、相识到最后决定冲破世俗的偏见勇敢地手牵手走到一起的故事用一种文艺的方式娓娓道来。其中的女性内衣代表着世俗的社会,开头妖媚的女生代表着世俗的眼光。女主角是男生的一种映射,她的出现是想让观众明白男生喜欢上男生跟男生喜欢上女生的感觉是一模一样的,但二者一个在亮处出现,一个却只能在暗处出现,二者的对比希望能让观众感受到同性相爱的艰难。最后一段运用了一段钢琴曲《忘却的悲伤》,并借助一连串快速的倒放是想表达一种对同性恋的支持和鼓励,想告诉他们,只要相爱就勇敢地牵手走下去,终有一天世人会理解并尊重。

An unexpected opportunity allowed me to read an article about homosexuality in a book called See by Chai Jing. With vivid language, Chai described the life situation of these people in the hope that more people would know, understand, and respect them. After reading this essay I was very touched and suddenly realized that this is a topic that is worthy of attention. I began reading about gay movies and seeking just enough information to let me learn about gay people. Homosexuality is not a disease or a psychopathology. It’s just a common biological phenomenon within nature, like all human behavior.

The film was made using flashbacks and multiple storylines. It contains a lot of metaphor as well as absurd black humour. I used these methods to show the life difficulties faced by two gay men. The story begins at their first moment of encounter and continues as they bravely hold each other’s hand to the end. The women’s underwear in the film represents ordinary society. The coquettish girl in the beginning of the film is a projection of the real world. The female is a reflection of the boy. Her appearance in the film is meant to show the audience that when a boy falls in love with another boy, it’s the same as falling in love with a girl. We wanted to show how difficult it is to fall in love with a person with the same sex. We used piano at the end of film to express our support and encouragement to gay people. We want to tell them that they should go on bravely with their love. Sooner or later, people will understand and respect them.

故事梗概 Synopsis

故事围绕着两个弱势群体的交汇/碰撞展开:男同志与麻风病康复者(麻风在中国是一个古老的疾病。1949年起,共产党开始执掌中国大陆,麻风防治运动成为新中国建国大业中的一个公共卫生指标。当时由于没有有效药物,只能硬性将病人隔离到深山中——追逐、污名、恐惧、离别的情节,在这场全国性隔离运动中常常上演。多年以后,那批被隔离的患者虽然病治好了,传染性也消除了,但是再也难以被社会所接纳,他们后半辈子也只能在麻风病村里度过)。

影片特别促成、并记录了两个群体难得的一次交汇——3月11日是国际尊严尊重日,广州市每年都会举办“我们都一样”的公益活动。这次活动中,一个男同志Nico,将与一位麻风病康复者黄伯有所交汇。Nico坦言,在这次活动之前并不了解麻风病,并且感觉“怕怕的”。经过志愿者的讲解——麻风病患者已经康复,不再有传染性,Nico才消除了疑虑;遗憾的是,我们始终没有办法跟年纪已经颇大的黄伯解释清楚什么是“同性恋”——这些曲曲折折的心理插曲,成了这个影片最值得玩味的地方。

The encounter between a gay man (Nico Chen) and a now-recovered leprosy patient (Huang Yigao) was documented in this film. In China, leprosy is an ancient disease. In 1949, when the Communist Party took over the mainland, the Communist government started a national project of leprosy control as a part of their nation building effort. Leprosy was officially eliminated at the national level in China by 1982; however, former leprosy sufferers like Huang Yigao (who was once quarantined) continue to live in remote villages, mainly because of strong prejudice against them.

March 11th is the International Day of Respect, an annual celebration that takes place in the city of Guangzhou. On this day, Nico Chen met Huang Yigao. Nico admitted that before meeting Huang, he was concerned about leprosy and knew nothing about it. Only by searching online for information about the disease and learning from volunteers in local NGOs did he diminish his fear. At the same time, although we could not help Old Huang make sense of homosexuality, his reaction to the issue of sexuality was still interesting.

我对纪录片的浅薄理解来源于我的传播学研究生学习,目前我也即将到澳大利亚昆士兰大学社会学系念博士生。

This is Liu Tingting, a lesbian and a feminist. I have been devoted to the LGBT movement and feminist movement in China since 2009, when I established Nüyou Group, a lesbian organization in Guangzhou.

My understanding of documentary and film comes from my master’s study in the field of communication. I am going to be a PhD student in sociology this year.

《隔离》是我执导的第一个纪录片(很可能也是最后一个,笑)。本片取名为隔离,一方面是因为两个群体都遭受着社会的歧视,文化或物理的隔离;更重要的是想要提醒,如果无知、无大爱、无同理心,我们每个人,都有可能因为这样、那样的原因被隔离。

通过这个影片,我想挑战一种狭隘的同志运动理念,即把同运看作是纯粹为自己谋福利、为自己发声(当然这也很重要)。这种局限的运动理念,必然会造成同志群体对其他社会议题、其他弱势族群的盲视——但不同的社会议题,例如族群的、法制的、劳工的、疾病与健康的,实际上是紧密相连,共同形塑我们的生活;各种不平等的权力,如国家/个人、男性/女性、异性恋/同性恋、城市/农村等等,是相互勾连、彼此加固的。我想强调,我们所为之呐喊的同志权益,是与更广大范畴的社会平等、公义相连,与其他族群的利益相连的。

Segregation is my first documentary, and maybe the last one (I’m joking). The name comes from the fact that homosexuals and leprosy patients both suffer from social, cultural and/or geographic segregation. It is also meant to imply that anyone of us can be segregated if we do not have love, understanding and tolerance.

With this film, I want to challenge a narrow idea about LGBT rights, which is that the LGBT movement is concerned only about the rights of LGBTs. Though speaking for oneself is important, it can also make us turn a blind eye to other important social issues, or keep us from relating our LGBT movement to the broader social movement of social freedom and justice. As a matter of fact, each dimension of social inequality is closely related to others, mutually reinforcing one another in dimensions such as colonizer/colonized, state/individual, capital/labour, male/female, heterosexual/homosexual, etc. What I want to emphasize is that we should learn to unite our movement with other social movements and always keep other disadvantaged groups in mind.

As a post-90s new director studying at Donghua University, Jackie Meng directed several short films. His representative works includes a psychological suspense film called Room 409, the music video of the theme song of the Second College Original Music Competition, and a short video about gay love called Double, which was selected as runner-up for Best Film in the Shanghai division of the Global 48-hour film project. He also played the role of cameraman in an advertising film for ‘BEDI’ with a Spanish team.

Double 讲述的是一个有关同性恋,三角恋的悲剧故事。影片总体的基调是阴暗的,隐晦的,这种气氛的渲染主要以演员的台词及动作表现、较多的特写、反差较大的光比及冷色调画面、较慢的镜头剪辑速度以及配乐来实现。

影片的主角Benson,鲜有话语,他在家中昏暗的灯光下给自己易妆以及杀害Samantha时慢条斯理的动作体现了他极强的条理性和令人发指的冷静,这些充分体现了Benson是一个内心严重扭曲,而一意孤行的人。

影片的剧本分为三场,其中第一场及第三场发生在Benson家中,少有对白,主要依靠精巧的镜头设置,演员的表演,以及后期配乐来铺垫、渲染和讲述情节。第二场发生在教室,拍摄时主要以还原真实的学校生活为主,同时在细节方面埋下伏笔,一天看似平凡的教学活动实则危机四伏,暗示有不详之事将要发生。

剧本中呈现的故事在现实中大抵不会发生。然而类似的三角恋以及Benson这样性格的人却绝不少存在,因此发生的争吵打斗乃至人身伤害也绝非耸人听闻。他们以自我为中心,不能很好的与周围的人和环境沟通,当这样的障碍越积越深最终使他们做出常人无法理解的变态行为。我们应该反思如何用科学的方法让社会去接纳这一部分人,这也是这部小品的现实意义所在。

Double is a tragic story about a gay love triangle. The overall tone of this short narrative is dark and obscure. The key elements rendering this atmosphere are the actors’ lines and performances, close-up shots, high contrast, cool color tone, and last but not least, music.

The protagonist, Benson, seldom speaks. He puts on makeup and kills Samantha calmly in dim lighting, a fact which indicates that this man is quite disturbed and has a seriously troubled heart.

There are three scenes in this short narrative. The first and third have little dialogue. To render the plot, it mainly relies on sophisticated camera settings, actors’ performances and music. The second scene takes place in a classroom. Its main task is to present what looks like ordinary teaching activities. A day of seemingly mundane teaching activities, however, is actually a suggestion of danger.

The story presented in the script probably will not happen in reality. However, similar love triangles and character like Benson , definitely exist. They are self-centered and cannot communicate well with people and the environment around , when such obstacles piled they will behavior abnormally and eventually make the creepy move. We should work on how to use scientific methods to make this small part of people to embrace human society, and this is where the meaning of this story lies.)

《贵圈好乱》是一部具有实验性质的浪漫喜剧片,藉由一位“隐形”的故事讲述者,探讨了北京同志社群内相互交织的人际关系。作品也嘲弄了针对LGBT群体的常见刻板印象。如同志圈里的“阴柔”与“阳刚”,以及相应的概念是如何影响了我们对同志群体的看法,又如何给人们贴上了不同的标签,把他们划分成了不同的群体。短片由彭陌勰自编自导,通过追梦网的一次众筹活动募集到开拍资金。

My 17 Gay Friends is a romantic comedy with experimental elements that explores the interconnected web of relationships in Beijing’s gay community, all surrounding an unseen narrator. It also pokes fun at stereotypes and labels that often cut across the LGBT community such as femininity and masculinity and how these affect our perceptions of gay people and categorizes people into distinct groups.This short narrative work was written and directed by Moxie Peng and was funded through a crowdfunding campaign on Dreamore.

Peng Moxie, born in Hunan province in 1987, majored in Chinese language and literature and is a director and screenwriter of independent film. After graduating from Liaoning University, he came to Beijing and started his independent filmmaking career. His films are characterized by a peculiar personal style: humorous, biting, refreshing and touching. He spares no efforts to experiment with new narrative approaches to achieve originality in film production.

Major works include the 48-hour Film Plan works Gone and Tiger Lily; queer short narrative 3 L Affairs; the short documentariesMicro Search andFrom Me to We: Five Years with the Beijing LGBT Center.

His works were invited to the 5thBeijing Queer Film Festival, UCCA Asian Cinema Week—2013 Short Narrative Unit (sponsored by JUE and Electronic Shadows) and BarCamp Beijing 2013 Season 1. 故事梗概 Synopsis

本片为中国首部全程采用iPhone5手机在无专业打光设备的条件下拍摄夜景的短片。讲述了四个男人之间在平行时空中相遇又分离的故事。

何森和林峰都在各自分手之后睡在了一张床上,他们做了同一个梦,只是这个梦对于何森而言是与前任热恋的美梦,对于林峰而言却是与前任分手的悲梦。梦醒之后两人再次擦肩而过,却殊不知何森早已用手机记录下了与林峰在上一个时空中的相遇。孤独不分性向,时间不等爱情。我们走进这片情感与欲望的夜森林,最终还是独身一人。

This film was shot with an iPhone5. It tells the story of four men in a parallel universe who encounter one another and then separate. He Sen and Lin Feng hooked up andwere sleeping in bed together when they had the same dream. For He Sen it was a sweet dream, but for Lin Feng it was a sad dream about parting ways.

Zhou Shengwei born on February 20, 1991, graduated from the School of Arts of Peking University in 2009, and now lives in Beijing, where he continues film study. His fortes include motion animation, creative short narrative, and experimental shorts.

在如今这个移动终端时代,手机具备了一种新的影像生产潜力,我希望把手机的这个潜力尽可能地发掘出来,借助这种全新的个人化的、类似于速写写生的创作理念激励更多的以“不敢怕”“觉得自己没有能力拍”或者“没有专业团队”为借口逃避电影创作的那些电影爱好者们加入到移动终端时代下个人影像写生的新浪潮来。之所以我选择用手机无打光拍摄夜景,是因为有一次我帮朋友用手机在夜里拍照,突然惊觉手机在夜景环境中的略微过曝和噪点的风格化效果特别有感觉,那种粗粝中透着灯光摇曳不定的效果很符合这种情绪。

Yao Cong was born in 1992 in Xi’an and was admitted to the Chinese Academy of Art in 2010.

Sensitive emotions have always been the driving force behind his inspiration. In the process of creation, he attempts to bring his artwork into full play, and also tries to employ stylized settings to complement his work. One can see that his work allows him to convey the inner desire of speaking freely, of reflection and of the quest for release. Recently, his work focus more on gender culture and queer cultural research in particular. This he explores through moving images, social interaction, physical theatre and other media.  He has exhibited widely and participated in various art practices.

导演阐述 Director’s Statement

以性别为议题尤其为酷儿议题的艺术创作,是我大学二年级以来感兴趣并致力的课题。这部片子便以此为议题展开。社会性别分化,是文明的产物,为此我们背负的太多,更或是我们已在不知不觉中习惯并沉浸于伪装的愉悦。我们带妆生活,以假乱真。那么,该何时卸妆。然而,对于既定的社会,无论是以实际形式,或是乌托邦形式,一向都是跟深深的社会排斥联系在一起的。我们都在妥协中挣扎,在挣扎中麻木。一切都太残酷,自由是需要付出代价的,以此我转以往极力抒发主观情绪而不同,在唯美的装饰下直指议题。这是我的本科毕业创作,结合舞蹈剧场与影像语言进行创作,于2014年二月开始构思,五月低完成,在此还是要感谢一路上对我帮助的所有朋友们。

In my sophomore year, I started developing an interest in creating artworks that were centered on the subjectof gender, especially queer issues. This video addresses these issues. We have shouldered too great of a burden because of gender differentiation existing in society; this is a product of civilization. Unconsciously, we are accustomed toindulging in a kind of camouflage pleasure such that we must wear makeup to live our lives and cover up truth with falsehood. Indeed, it’s high time to remove the makeup. However, established society, whether in actual form or utopian form, has been associated with a deep-rooted repulsion. Thus we struggle to compromise and become indifferent in this struggle only to realize that everything is cruel and freedom comes at a price. Shifting from intention to strong expression of subjective emotion, I took a quite different approach to bringing out these themes by employing aesthetic beauty. This is the graduation project I created to conclude my undergraduate study. It finely integrates dance theatre and the language of images. The idea was first conceived in February, 2014 and too as long as three months to complete. Here, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of the friends who have helped.
